Using Ankhdase

Ankhdase is free to use for students, teachers, schools and families. There is nothing to buy, no subscription, and no payment details are ever collected. Ankhs are points inside the site: they have no cash value, cannot be purchased, cannot be transferred between accounts, and may be adjusted or reset if they are obtained by exploiting a fault.

Some teachers choose to run a classroom store where Ankhs are exchanged for real classroom items, such as a pencil or a homework pass. That arrangement is entirely between the teacher and their students. We are not party to it, we supply nothing, and we make no promise that any item will be provided.

Accounts

  • Keep your password or PIN to yourself. A teacher can reset a student's PIN if it is lost.
  • Use a display name a teacher will recognize. Names that are abusive, or that impersonate somebody else, may be changed or removed.
  • Do not share an account between people, and do not try to reach another person's account.
  • Teacher and parent accounts are for adults. Creating one to get at another person's class or child is a misuse of the service.

Fair use

Please do not attack, overload, scrape at volume, reverse-engineer, or try to defeat the scoring and anti-cheat logic. Please do not use Ankhdase to store or send anything unlawful, or anything that harasses another person. We may suspend or remove an account that does.

What belongs to whom

The site, its activities, its artwork and its curriculum belong to Ankhdase and its authors. You may use them freely for teaching and learning. You may not republish, resell, or pass them off as your own.

A student's work and progress records belong to that student and, in a school setting, to their school. We claim no ownership of them.

What we promise, and what we do not

We work hard to keep Ankhdase accurate, available and safe, but it is provided as it is, without warranty. We do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from its use. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Ankhdase supports teaching. It is not an assessment instrument, and its mastery estimates should not stand in for a teacher's professional judgment about a child.

Ending it

You can stop using Ankhdase at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms, and we may discontinue the service — with notice to schools where we can reach them.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, USA.
