About Ankhdase
A free, adaptive learning site for Pre-K through Grade 8, with a full typing course and real progress reporting for teachers.
What it is
Ankhdase is a curriculum-led practice environment covering math, reading and phonics, spelling and grammar, science, geography, wellbeing, and touch typing. It holds 47 activities and a 56-lesson typing course, mapped to 101 named skills across seven subjects.
The activities are built as games because a child will do forty problems in a game and eight on a worksheet. What sits underneath is ordinary curriculum: a skill list, a difficulty model, and a record of what each child can actually do.
How the adaptive part works
Every answer updates a mastery estimate for the specific skill it belongs to — not for the game, and not for the subject. That estimate sets the difficulty of the next question, drives what the site recommends a child practice next, and fills in the teacher's class heat map, which shows at a glance which skills a class has and which it does not.
This is also why difficulty cannot be bought. Nothing purchasable in Ankhdase affects learning: no hints, no skips, no easier questions. The moment a child can buy their way past a question, the mastery numbers stop meaning anything.
For teachers
A teacher can create a class, generate a whole roster of student logins without needing a single email address, set assignments against a goal, share a class with a co-teacher, link a parent to a child, and reset a lost student PIN. Progress is reported per skill, not just per score.
What it costs, and how it is funded
Nothing. Ankhdase is free for students, teachers, schools and families. There is no subscription, no upgrade, no paid tier, and no payment details are collected anywhere on the site.
It carries no advertising and no third-party analytics. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what is and is not collected.
Built to work in a real classroom
- Nothing to install. It runs in any modern browser — Chromebook, iPad, laptop. No plugins, no downloads, no extensions.
- It works offline. Once a page has loaded, the activities keep running through a dropped connection and sync progress when it returns.
- It is light. No video streaming and no large downloads — nothing that will trouble a school connection with thirty children on it.
- It is accessible. Keyboard navigable, screen-reader labelled, and readable in both light and dark themes.
